Freshdesk Pricing in 2026: Growth, Pro, Omni and the AI Session Meter
Shayan, Founder8 min read

Freshdesk, the help desk from Freshworks, costs $19 to $89 per agent per month on annual billing, or $23 to $107 monthly. If you want live chat alongside tickets you need Freshdesk Omni, which runs $29 to $119 per agent on annual billing. Two agents can use Freshdesk free for six months. The AI agent, Freddy, is sold in packs of 100 sessions for $49, so a two-person team handling 500 conversations pays $46 a month once the free period ends, or about $144 with Freddy handling 30% of the load.
The number that changed in 2026 is the AI one. A year ago a Freddy session cost ten cents. Today it costs forty-nine.
Freshdesk or Freshdesk Omni
Freshdesk is email ticketing with a help center. Omni is the same help desk with chat, messaging channels and telephony connections folded in. A SaaS team that wants a chat widget needs Omni, or the separately sold Freshchat.
| Plan | Monthly billing | Annual billing | What it covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free Program | $0 | $0 | Two agents, one support email, basic tickets and knowledge base, for six months |
| Growth | $23 per agent | $19 per agent | Email ticketing, shared inbox, help center, automations, 500 AI sessions once |
| Pro | $66 per agent | $55 per agent | Adds custom roles and reports, 5,000 collaborators, Copilot eligibility |
| Enterprise | $107 per agent | $89 per agent | Adds skills routing, audit log, sandbox, Freddy Insights |
| Omni Growth | $35 per agent | $29 per agent | Growth plus chat and messaging channels |
| Omni Pro | $95 per agent | $79 per agent | Pro plus multilingual service and your own telephony |
| Omni Enterprise | $143 per agent | $119 per agent | Enterprise plus custom objects and skills across channels |
Every agent is a full seat at the plan rate. Collaborators, who can view and comment on tickets but not resolve them, are included from Pro up; Growth has none. The free offer is a program, not a plan: two agents, six months, then you pick a paid tier or the account is suspended. Freshdesk used to give ten agents free with no time limit, cut that to two agents in late 2024, and added the six-month limit in 2025.
What else lands on the bill
Freddy AI Agent, $49 per 100 sessions. Freddy is billed by session, not by resolution. An email session is every AI reply within 72 hours of the customer's first email; a chat session is every AI interaction within 24 hours. A session that ends in a handoff to a human still counts. Previewing the agent while you set it up counts. New Growth, Pro and Enterprise accounts get 500 sessions once, not per month. Packs expire at the end of each billing cycle and recur unless you reduce them, and an optional auto-recharge buys a new pack when the balance drops under 50 sessions. There is a daily cap on how many emails the agent handles, but no dollar-denominated monthly spend limit.
Freddy AI Copilot, $29 per agent per month. Agent assist, $35 on monthly billing, available from Pro and bought for the agents you choose rather than all of them.
Day passes. An occasional agent can log in for a day at $2 on Growth, $7 on Pro and $12 on Enterprise, after three free passes. Omni passes are $5, $10 and $15.
Connector tasks and MCP actions. Workflow integrations are $80 per 5,000 tasks. MCP actions for your own agents are included by tier and then $15 per 1,000; past 110% of the allowance they pause.
Channels. Phone, WhatsApp and SMS usage on Omni is charged by the carriers on top of the seat.
Seats renew in advance; AI packs and overages bill with the cycle.
Three bills
Monthly billing, every agent on Growth, no Copilot, no day passes, no Omni. "With Freddy" means the AI handles 30% of conversations, one session each, after the one-time 500 free sessions are gone.
| Team | Humans only | With Freddy at 30% |
|---|---|---|
| 2 agents, 500 conversations | $46 (free for 6 months) | $144 |
| 5 agents, 2,000 conversations | $115 | $409 |
| 10 agents, 5,000 conversations | $230 | $965 |
On annual billing the human-only rows are $38, $95 and $190. Add $10 to $12 per agent per month for Omni if you need chat.
Freddy's packs round up. The two-agent team needs 150 sessions, buys two packs, and pays $98 for AI against $46 for people. Sessions are also a looser unit than resolutions: an unsuccessful attempt that the customer re-opens inside 72 hours is one session, but a customer who writes back on day four starts a new one, and so does every setup preview. The 30% column is a floor, not an estimate.
Against the others, Freshdesk's seats are the cheapest of the four help desks on this site, and the AI sits between Help Scout's $0.75 resolution and Zendesk's $2. The catch is the billing unit. A session is not a resolution, and Freshdesk's own documentation disagrees with itself about whether an auto-recharge pack is 50 sessions or 100.
Live chat, email and an AI agent, one flat price.
UserJot's support inbox and Juno come with every plan. No agent seats, no session packs.
What changed in 2026
In January 2024 Freshdesk's annual prices were $15, $49 and $79 per agent, ten agents were free forever, and AI sessions were $100 per 1,000. By January 2026 the annual prices were $19, $55 and $89, free was two agents for six months, and sessions were $49 per 100. Seats went up 13% to 27% depending on tier; the AI unit price went up five times. In March 2026 Freshworks management confirmed price changes across products, and two separate Reddit threads in August and September 2026 describe renewal increases, one of them 35%, as the reason for leaving.
Older contracts can still carry monthly session allowances of 2,000 to 5,000. If you are on one, do not assume the public numbers apply to you until your renewal.
Fine print that bites
- Subscriptions renew for the same term and seat count unless you give written notice at least 30 days before the end. Fee increases at renewal need 30 days' notice from Freshdesk, which is how the 35% one arrived.
- Fees are non-refundable. There is no cancellation fee, but cancellation takes effect at the end of the term, so an annual contract is owed in full. A Capterra reviewer in August 2026 described a 24-month commitment to 19 seats while using four.
- Cancellation is a request through the admin panel that Freshdesk follows up on, not a button.
- Data is deleted 14 days after the subscription ends, and an export can take up to ten business days to produce. Start the export before you cancel.
- The Free Program warns that downgrading can lose features and configuration, and Freshdesk's own support pages disagree on whether a paid account can return to Free.
Is Freshdesk worth it?
For an SMB support team that lives in email tickets, wants a help center, and needs the price per seat to be low, yes. Growth at $19 is a real help desk, the automations are good for the money, and teams that migrate from Zendesk for cost reasons mostly report the move as an improvement. The product is at its weakest at the edges: chat lives in a different SKU, the AI is metered in a unit that is hard to forecast, and the renewal stories are the common complaint.
For a two-to-five person SaaS team, the question is whether the six free months and the $19 seats are worth the Omni surcharge for chat, the session packs for AI, and the renewal letter. Freshdesk's cheap entry price is real. The bill it grows into is not.
The same three teams on UserJot
UserJot is built for that team. Live chat on your site and support email land in one inbox. Juno, our AI agent, answers from your docs and the sites you point her at, searches your feedback board before she replies, writes in the customer's language, and hands the thread to a person the moment a question needs one. Everyone on the team can work the inbox, because there are no agent seats.
The price is flat: $0, $29 or $59 a month for the whole workspace, with no session packs. A support tool should not earn more when your customers need more help.
| Team | Freshdesk Growth, with Freddy at 30% | UserJot |
|---|---|---|
| 2 agents, 500 conversations | $144 | $0 |
| 5 agents, 2,000 conversations | $409 | $29 |
| 10 agents, 5,000 conversations | $965 | $29 |
Free covers three teammates, and it does not expire. Starter at $29 covers up to 100 teammates, which is every other team on this page, and adds a custom domain, private boards, guest posting and the API. Pro at $59 adds single sign-on, identity masking and white-labelling. None of the tiers charge for conversations or for Juno.
The inbox is one part of a product that also runs your public feedback board, roadmap and changelog. A feature request that arrives in a support chat gets filed, voted on and announced from the same place, and the customer who asked hears about it when it ships. Freshdesk's edge is the breadth of a classic ticketing system: SLAs, skills routing, phone on Omni and a long integration list. For a SaaS team whose support happens in the app and over email, UserJot does the job at a price that stays put.
