UserJot is a Freshdesk alternative with live chat in your app, support email in the same inbox, and an AI agent that answers from your docs, next to a public feedback board, roadmap, and changelog. Flat pricing, no agent seats, and a free plan that does not end.
Every day, the teams behind Tally, OpenPanel, Drizzle, SuperWhisper, Scite, Throne, Nuelink, Ghostbase, and hundreds of others talk with their customers in UserJot.
| Feature | Freshdesk | UserJot |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $19 to $89 per agent a month billed yearly, or $23 to $107 monthly; Omni, with chat, $29 to $119 yearly | Free, $29, or $59 a month, flat |
| Free plan | Two agents, one support email, and a knowledge base for six months, then a paid plan | Live chat, inbox, Juno, board, roadmap, and changelog, with 3 team members, no end |
| Live chat | Not on Freshdesk; Freshdesk Omni, from $29 an agent billed yearly | In the widget on every plan |
| AI agent | Freddy, $49 per 100 sessions after 500 once; a session bills whether or not it resolved the question | Juno, included while Conversations is in beta, with no charge per answer |
| Feature requests | An Ideas forum with votes, on Pro at $55 an agent billed yearly; no roadmap or changelog product listed | Public board, roadmap, and changelog on every plan; Juno files them from chat |
| Leaving | Renews unless written notice arrives 30 days before the term ends; data deleted 14 days after it ends | Cancel any time from settings |
Freshdesk bills by the agent, sells live chat as a second product, and meters its AI by the session. If you would rather pay a flat price with chat in it, these are the alternatives to Freshdesk worth a look. If phone through Freshcaller, WhatsApp, SLA policies, and skills routing are what you use Freshdesk for, UserJot has none of them; Zendesk has all four.
Live chat on your site and in your app, support email in the same inbox, and Juno, an AI operator who answers from your docs and files feature requests on your public board. Roadmap and changelog included, and an MCP server on paid plans. Flat pricing, no agent seats, free to start.
Best for: SaaS teams whose support happens in a chat widget and a support address, and who want the feature requests in those conversations to land somewhere.
A ticketing help desk at $7 to $40 per agent a month billed yearly, with live chat from the $14 Standard plan and its Zia AI on the $40 Enterprise plan with no charge per session. Free for up to three agents, with no end date.
Best for: Teams that want Freshdesk's ticket model at a lower seat price, and a free plan that stays free.
Tickets from $19 an agent a month billed yearly; chat, voice, and a help center from Suite Team at $55, up to $115 on Suite Professional. 5 or 10 AI resolutions per agent included, then $2 each.
Best for: Teams that want SLAs, skills routing, and a phone channel, and will pay per agent for them.
A shared inbox, live chat, and a docs site, at $25 per user a month billed yearly, with a free plan for 5 users and 100 helped contacts a month. Its AI agent, Envoy, is $0.75 per resolution after a three-month free trial for new accounts.
Best for: Teams that want chat and email on one seat with less to configure than Freshdesk, and can live with a seat price.
A Messenger-first help desk with chat, email, and a help center on one seat, at $39 a seat a month or $29 billed yearly, plus $0.99 per Fin outcome. No free plan; a 14-day trial.
Best for: Teams that want chat, email, and the help center on one plan from day one, and will pay per seat and per AI outcome.
A chat-first inbox priced per workspace, with 2 seats free, 4 seats for $45 a month, and 10 for $95. Its AI runs on dollar credits included with each paid plan, $5 on Mini and $25 on Essentials.
Best for: Teams that want a chat widget at a flat price, and a ticket queue second.
Open source and self-hostable, with live chat and email, a free cloud plan for 2 agents and 500 conversations a month, and paid plans from $19 an agent. The Startups plan is free for open-source projects. You run the server and the backups if you self-host.
Best for: Teams whose support data has to stay on their own servers.
Freshdesk, on sale since 2011 from the company now called Freshworks, is a ticketing help desk with a shared inbox, dispatch automations, SLA policies, a help center, agent apps for iOS and Android, a marketplace it says has 1,000+ integrations, and Freddy, its AI agent. It also has a live chat that is a second product, an AI billed by the session, whether or not it answered, a free plan that ends after six months, and a renewal price that can move, and a feature request forum behind the Pro plan.
Freshdesk's widget shows articles and a form; live chat and Chat AI are on Freshdesk Omni, $29 to $119 an agent billed yearly
The web widget on Freshdesk's $19 Growth seat embeds help articles and a ticket form. Live chat, Chat AI, WhatsApp, and Instagram are Freshdesk Omni, a separate product at $29, $79, or $119 an agent a month billed yearly, or $35, $95, and $143 monthly. For two agents the step from Growth to Omni Growth is $20 a month billed yearly; for ten it is $100, before any AI. Freshdesk's Omni page describes it as combining email, chat, phone, and messaging, and its chat sessions are billed on the same $49 packs as email. The worked bills for 2, 5, and 10 agents, with and without Omni, are in our Freshdesk pricing guide.
$49 per 100 sessions after a one-time 500; an email session is 72 hours, a chat session 24; resolution is not the billing unit
Freddy AI Agent costs $49 per pack of 100 sessions once a new account's one-time 500 are gone. An email session is every AI reply within 72 hours of the customer's first email, a chat session is 24 hours of AI interaction, and Freshdesk's help docs count the session whether Freddy answered, handed the customer to a person, or sent an automated chat greeting the customer never replied to; previewing the agent in AI Agent Studio consumes sessions too. Packs expire at the end of the billing cycle, auto-recharge buys another when the balance drops below 50, and there is a daily cap on email AI but no dollar ceiling is documented. The unit price was $0.10 a session in January 2024 and $0.49 from November 2025; a buyer in a May 2026 r/SaaS thread was still quoting ten cents. For two agents on 500 conversations a month with Freddy on 30%, the packs come to $98 on top of $46 of seats.
Two agents for six months, then a paid plan; yearly seats went from $15, $49, and $79 to $19, $55, and $89 by January 2026
In January 2024 Freshdesk was free forever for up to 10 agents. By January 2025 the free plan was two agents, and by January 2026 it was the Free Program: two agents, one support email, and a knowledge base for six months, after which the help docs say you "must upgrade to a paid plan" and cannot switch back once you have. The seat prices rose in the same stretch, from $15, $49, and $79 billed yearly to $19, $55, and $89, and Freshworks' terms let it raise the renewal fee with 30 days' notice. Two r/msp threads in August and September 2026 are from customers who got renewal increases, one long-time customer's of 35%; the September one asks, "I know this is an age old problem, but what are you guys using for help desk ticketing software?" A Capterra reviewer in August 2026 described a 24-month commitment to 19 seats while four people used it.
An Ideas forum with votes and statuses on Pro, $55 an agent billed yearly; no roadmap or changelog product listed; Productboard and Canny by integration
Growth has no place for a feature request beyond a ticket and a tag. Pro, at $55 an agent a month billed yearly, adds customer-portal forums where customers post ideas and vote on them, with the statuses planned, in progress, deferred, implemented, and not taken. No roadmap board or changelog product is listed; release notes go out as announcement topics on the same forum. Productboard and Canny each publish a Freshdesk integration, one pulling tickets into Productboard notes and the other turning resolved tickets into Canny ideas; both are separate products. For a five-person team the forum costs $180 a month more than Growth billed yearly, and a customer who asked for a feature by email still has to find the forum and post there.
UserJot has what a small SaaS team uses Freshdesk for: support email in a shared inbox, an AI agent, Juno, who answers from your docs and hands the thread to a person when one is needed, and live chat in your app without a second product. It adds the public feedback board, roadmap, and changelog that the requests in those conversations end up on.
Everyone on your team works the inbox, and Conversations is free on every plan while it is in beta. Paid plans start at $29 a month with a 14-day trial, and you're live in minutes.

With Conversations on, the widget that shows your board, roadmap, and changelog gets a Messages page, and customers write to you from inside your product. Forward your support address and the email lands in the same inbox, with no DNS changes; your reply goes out from the forwarding address. A customer who leaves the chat gets your answer by email when you have their address, and their reply comes back into the thread.
Every conversation has an assignee and a state: needs team, AI handling, or waiting on customer. Internal notes, snooze, reminders, search, typing indicators, blocked senders, and an away reply for when the whole team is off are in the inbox. Incoming messages are translated into your language, and you can translate a reply before it goes out.
Juno is the AI operator built into UserJot. On each customer message, chat or email, she decides to answer, hand off, or stay silent. She answers from your docs and the sites you point her at, in the customer's language, at any hour. When the customer asks for a person, when she isn't confident, or when the question is outside what she knows, she hands the thread to your team and can leave a private note on why. Once a teammate replies, she stays out of that thread until someone hands it back.
There is no session to count. Juno comes with every plan while Conversations is in beta, a handoff costs the same as an answer, which is nothing, and there is no pack to run out of at the end of the month. Turn her off for the workspace and new conversations go straight to the team.
When a customer describes a feature in chat, Juno searches your public board, shows them the matching request, and once they confirm, adds their vote or files a new one in their name. The request is on the board with the customer's name on it, and the board is where your team plans from.
When you mark the request Planned or In Progress, it moves to that column on the public roadmap. Every status change emails everyone who posted, voted, or commented. When you mark it Completed, the changelog post you write links back to it, and Juno drafts the post from the requests you completed since the last one when you ask.
Planned
12Committed and queued
Mobile app
The whole web app on iPhone and Android, with push notifications when something needs you.
Export reports to CSV
Finance needs the monthly numbers in a spreadsheet. A one-click export from any report would save us an afternoon every month.
Zapier integration
We’d love to send new tasks to the rest of our tools without writing a script. A trigger for new tasks would cover most of it.
Custom fields on tasks
We track budget and client on every task. A couple of custom fields would replace the spreadsheet we keep next to Acme.
Two-factor sign-in
Our security review asks for it every year. An authenticator app option would be enough for us.
In Progress
4Actively being built
Dark mode
Late nights in Acme are hard on the eyes. A dark theme that follows the system setting would be perfect.
Bulk edit tasks
Changing the assignee on twenty tasks one at a time takes forever. Let me edit a whole selection at once.
Task templates
We set up the same onboarding checklist for every new client. Saving it once as a template would save us an hour each time.
Timeline view
Seeing tasks on a timeline would make it much easier to plan around deadlines and spot overlaps.

9Recently shipped
Google Calendar sync
Due dates should show up on my calendar without copying them over one by one.
Slack alerts for due tasks
A message in our team channel the morning a task is due would stop things from slipping.
Search freezes in big workspaces
With a few thousand tasks, typing in search locks the page for a second or two.
Keyboard shortcuts
Creating and moving tasks without the mouse would make Acme so much faster to use all day.

Freshdesk's prices and the shortlist's were checked against their pricing pages on ; Freshdesk's features, help docs, and terms on October 14, 2026. The worked bills are monthly billing on Growth at $23 an agent, with Freddy at $49 per 100 sessions and each conversation it handles counted as one session, after the one-time 500 are gone. If something has changed, tell us and we will correct it.
There is no ticket importer, and you don't need one to start: forward the support address and the next email lands in UserJot. Freshdesk's export is for your records, and your help center becomes what Juno answers from.
If something doesn't come across, email support@userjot.com and we'll finish the migration with you.
$19 per agent a month on Growth, $55 on Pro, and $89 on Enterprise billed yearly, or $23, $66, and $107 monthly. Freshdesk Omni, which adds live chat, messaging channels, and phone, is $29, $79, and $119 an agent billed yearly, or $35, $95, and $143 monthly. The pricing page's search snippet still says "Freshdesk pricing starts at $15", the yearly Growth price before January 2026. The worked bills for 2, 5, and 10 agents are in our Freshdesk pricing guide.
Give them one place to ask, and give your team and your agents one place to answer.
