Top Pastel alternatives

Pastel is a review tool: an agency shares a canvas, the client pins comments on the page, and the round closes with an approval. If you came for the feedback board, these are the alternatives to Pastel worth a look.

  1. Public feedback board, roadmap, changelog, and live chat in one product, on your own domain from $29 and inside your app, with Juno, an AI operator who answers customers and drafts your changelog, and an MCP server for your own agents. Flat pricing, unlimited users, free plan.

Best for: SaaS teams that want customers to post, vote, and hear back, and a support inbox in the same tool.

  2. Comments pinned to page elements, one-minute recordings, and a kanban board, with Jira and Linear on its $150 plan. From $50 a month, no free plan.

Best for: Agencies reviewing client websites with the client in the loop.

  3. Website bug reports with screenshots and session data, sent straight to your issue tracker. No feedback board documented.

Best for: Teams whose feedback is bug reports and whose home is Jira, Trello, or GitHub.

  4. Visual bug reports with 3-minute recordings and console logs, plus surveys and a feedback board on its $259 plan.

Best for: Product teams that want capture tools and a board from one vendor and will pay for the upper plan.

  5. Visual bug reports with screenshots and recordings, plus a feature request portal sold as a paid add-on. Flat pricing per workspace.

Best for: Agencies and QA teams that want capture tools and a request portal from one vendor.

  6. Feedback board, public roadmap, and changelog, priced by tracked users, with Jira, Linear, and Intercom integrations.

Best for: Teams that want a board with a long integration list and don't mind paying by the voter.

Where Pastel falls short.

Pastel launched in 2017 and has sold website review since 2018. Paste a URL and it makes a canvas, a copy of the page where reviewers pin comments, each with a screenshot and the browser details attached; it does the same for PDFs, images, emails, and uploaded video, and closes the round with an approval. It also has a price that counts seats and canvases, a review round, not a board, a copy of your site on Pastel's domain, and no way to talk to the person behind the comment.

Two seats and three canvases for $35

Pro: $35 a month; Team: $119, plus $24 a seat past five

Pastel's Free plan is one user and one active canvas; to review a second site, you archive the first canvas. Pro is $35 a month, or $350 a year, for two users and three active canvases. Team is $119 a month, or $1,190 a year, for five users and unlimited canvases, and each user after that is $24 a month, so a ten-person team pays $239. Jira, Trello, Asana, ClickUp, monday.com, Zapier, and webhooks are all on Team. Enterprise starts at $5,400 a year for ten users, annual only, and is where SAML and the SOC 2 report sit. The yearly prices went up between 20 and 29 percent in early 2025, and by November 2025 the Free plan had gone from unlimited canvases to one.

What UserJot does instead.

UserJot is the board: a public feedback board at its own URL, on your own domain from $29, a roadmap with votes, a changelog, and a widget that puts all three inside your app. It adds live chat and support email in one inbox, Juno, an AI operator who answers customers first and drafts your changelog, and an MCP server for your own agents.

Every plan has unlimited users and posts, including Free, and no seat charge. It does not pin comments to a live page; customers screenshot the page from the widget and mark it up instead. Paid plans start at $29 a month with a 14-day trial, and you're live in minutes.

A public board, on every plan.

Anyone can post a request and vote on the board, on Free. When you mark a request Planned or In Progress, it moves to that column on the public roadmap, votes attached. Every status change emails everyone who posted, voted, or commented. When you mark one Completed, the changelog post links back to it.

The changelog is on every plan, with no cap on posts, and has drafts, scheduling, and a cover image. On Starter and up, any board can be made private: a customer sees only their own requests, and your team sees all of them.

    Zapier integration

We’d love to send new tasks to the rest of our tools without writing a script. A trigger for new tasks would cover most of it.

    Custom fields on tasks

We track budget and client on every task. A couple of custom fields would replace the spreadsheet we keep next to Acme.

    Two-factor sign-in

Our security review asks for it every year. An authenticator app option would be enough for us.

Chat, email, and feedback in one inbox.

Conversations adds a Messages page to the widget that already shows your board, roadmap, and changelog. Customers chat with you from inside your product, and your team answers from the dashboard where it already triages requests. Forward your support address and email lands in the same inbox, with no DNS changes.

When a customer describes a feature in chat, Juno finds the matching request on your board and shows it to them. Once they confirm, she files it or adds their vote. Conversations is in beta and free on every plan while it is.

The UserJot inbox: a customer asks about a mobile app, and Juno finds the request on the board, adds the customer's vote, and resolves the conversation.

One AI, across the whole product.

Juno is the AI operator built into UserJot. In the inbox, she answers new conversations first, in the customer's language, from your docs and the sites you point her at, and hands the thread to your team when a person is needed.

In the changelog editor, Juno reads the requests you completed since the last post and writes the draft, with the title, tags, and linked requests filled in. She never publishes. The board itself checks for duplicates as people type.

The UserJot widget open on the right side of a customer's web app.

Sorry about that! Refunds need a teammate, so I'm bringing one in now.

Hi, Sara here. Just refunded the duplicate charge, you'll see it back in a few business days.

An MCP server your agents can use today.

Your agent can read requests, file and vote on them, move them along the roadmap, draft changelog posts, and answer conversations. Ask your coding agent what customers have asked for in the area you're working on, or have it mark the request shipped and draft the changelog entry when the work merges.

It comes with the API on Starter and Professional. Pastel's MCP server works on canvas comments, with no plan named.

Switching from Pastel to UserJot.

Pastel exports a canvas's comments as CSV on every plan. UserJot's CSV import maps the columns with AI and shows you the mapping before anything is written.

If your data doesn't fit the CSV path, email support@userjot.com and we'll migrate it with you.

  1. Export from Pastel.

Open the canvas, select the comments, and export them as CSV. The file has each comment's text, page, labels, and replies, with links to the screenshots. One file per canvas.

    Import from CSV →

  2. Import into UserJot.

Upload the CSV. AI maps titles, descriptions, statuses, authors, and dates to UserJot's fields; check the mapping, confirm, done. Screenshots stay in Pastel.
  3. Put the board where customers already are.

Add the widget to your app, and on Starter or above, put the board on your own domain, like feedback.yourcompany.com.

    Custom domain →

  4. Then downgrade or cancel Pastel.

Both happen from its billing settings, or by emailing support. Paid access runs to the end of the cycle, and your old canvases stay readable on Free, so you can check back against the original.
