Mask public identities

Masking public identities hides regular users' names and avatars on public pages and notifications. Workspace owners and admins stay visible, and each person still sees their own name on their own posts. Your team still sees full identities inside the workspace.

Enable mask public identities

  1. Open Settings in your workspace, then go to Privacy.

  2. Under Public board, find the Mask public identities setting.

  3. Turn it on to hide regular user names and avatars on public pages and notifications.

What changes when it is enabled

This setting is meant for public-facing spaces. It hides regular users' names and avatars from external viewers on your public board, in conversations, updates, and other public activity.

Use it when you want to collect feedback publicly without exposing who posted or commented.

What does not change

Your team stays visible. Workspace owners and admins keep their names and avatars on public pages. Each person still sees their own name on posts they wrote.

Teammates inside the workspace still see full identities in the dashboard and can continue working normally.

This setting is about the public presentation of identity, not about changing how your team manages feedback internally.

Plan availability

Masking public identities is available on the Professional plan. On other plans, the setting is visible but disabled until you upgrade.
