Guest feedback

Guest feedback lets people participate on your public board without creating an account first. This is one of the simplest ways to reduce friction and collect more feedback from users who would otherwise leave before signing in.

Enable guest feedback

  1. Open Settings in your workspace, then go to Privacy.

  2. Under Public board, find Guest submissions.

  3. Turn it on to allow visitors to participate without signing up first. The change applies immediately.

  4. Share your public board link so users have one place to post feedback, vote, and join existing discussions.

Guest submissions are available on paid plans. On the Free plan, the toggle is visible but disabled until you upgrade.

What guests can do

When guest feedback is enabled, visitors can submit requests, vote on existing posts, and add comments on your public board. This makes it easier to capture feedback from first-time users, trial users, or anyone who does not want to create an account before participating.

What guest feedback does not change

Guest feedback does not open up every part of your workspace. Guests see approved public content. When UserJot can identify someone through their guest session, they can also return to their own submissions and the comments on them, even when a post is private or waiting for review. Private boards still hide other people's posts, though a guest can submit to one if it is listed in the board picker.

An anonymous receipt or a copied link does not grant access to a private post. If a guest session is lost, the visitor may no longer be recognized as the author.

If guest feedback is turned off, people need to sign in before they can participate. That sign-in flow depends on your board login settings.

Guest feedback and moderation

Guest requests and comments follow your workspace's moderation settings. Automatic checks can also flag content for review.

A confirmation means the feedback was received. It may still need checking or approval before other people can see it. Authors may see Checking your feedback or Pending Review, while the widget shows a receipt message.

Your team handles the review in the dashboard. See moderate content for settings and review actions.

When to use guest feedback

Guest feedback works well when your goal is to make participation as easy as possible. It is especially useful for public product boards, bug-report boards, and early-stage products where reducing signup friction matters more than capturing a full user profile on the first interaction.
