Notify subscribers
UserJot helps people stay informed as feedback moves through your workflow. Instead of requiring manual follow-up, users can subscribe to requests and receive updates when something changes.
How users follow a request
Users can follow a request directly with Follow this post in the actions section on the public request page. The same button becomes Unfollow this post once they follow.
Most people never press that button, though. The author of a request is subscribed from the start, and anyone who votes, comments, or replies on the public board is followed up automatically. Participation is what keeps people connected. The exception is activity created through the public API, which does not subscribe anyone.
What triggers notifications
The most important notification is a status change.
When a request moves from one status to another, UserJot can notify the people connected to that request, including the author and other followers.
This is what closes the loop for feedback. Users can see when a request moves into review, becomes planned, starts progressing, or is completed.
Replies and discussion
UserJot also notifies people when discussion continues on a request.
If someone replies in a comment thread, the people already involved in that thread can be notified so the conversation stays active without everyone having to check back manually.
Feedback that needs review
Announcements about new requests and comments can wait while the content is being checked or awaiting approval. Workspace admins may still receive a review alert.
Before sending an update, UserJot checks whether the recipient can still access the content. Making a request private limits further notifications to people who retain access. It does not recall emails already delivered.
Approving content does not resend every earlier notification. Older creation announcements may no longer be sent after a long review. Public digests also leave out private or unapproved feedback.
See moderate content and make a request private for how review and visibility affect feedback.
Replying from email
Some notification emails let recipients reply directly from their inbox. When an email says they can reply, UserJot turns the meaningful part of that reply into a comment on the related request or comment thread.
Replies are accepted only from the email address that received the original notification. Automatic replies and empty replies are ignored.
Weekly digests
For a lighter notification model, you can also enable weekly digests.
Open Settings, go to Feedback, and turn on Weekly digest emails under Behavior if you want users to receive regular summaries of recent public feedback activity.
Digests are useful when you want to keep engaged users informed without sending an email for every single change.
Email preferences
Recipients can manage their own email notification settings.
That means users can choose how they want to hear about status updates, discussion, and other activity instead of relying on a single default for everything.
Turning off all emails also stops optional UserJot emails, including onboarding and setup reminders for workspace admins. Essential account emails, such as password resets and team invites, may still be sent.
