Notification preferences

Notification preferences let each workspace member choose how they hear about activity. You can control the in-app activity feed, browser push notifications, and conversation emails from one panel. These settings only affect your own account.

Open notification preferences

  1. Open your workspace dashboard.
  2. Select the activity bell in the sidebar.
  3. Select the gear icon in the activity popover. The panel switches to Notifications.
  4. Turn each notification type on or off .

This device

The This device section controls whether the browser you are currently using can show notifications at all.

Turn on Browser notifications to let this browser deliver conversation alerts. Once it is enabled, you can use Send test notification to confirm it works. If your browser is blocking notifications, allow them in the browser settings first, then come back and try again.

In-app notifications

The In-app section controls what appears in your dashboard activity feed and unread count. You can toggle:

  • New feedback, when someone submits feedback to the workspace
  • Comments on feedback you are following
  • Reactions on feedback you are following
  • Replies to your comments
  • Reactions on your comments

The new feedback option is available to workspace owners and admins. Other members see the types related to feedback and comment activity they are connected to.

When you turn off an in-app type, UserJot hides that type from your activity feed and unread count. New matching activity will not create in-app notifications for you, and existing unread activity of that type is marked as read when the preference is saved. All types are on by default.

Push and email notifications

The Push and Email sections control conversation alerts, and each channel is toggled independently:

  • New conversations, when a customer starts a conversation that needs your team
  • Customer replies, when a customer replies to a conversation

Push notifications also require Browser notifications to be on for the device that should receive them.

What does not change

These preferences do not control the emails UserJot sends to your users. Subscriber emails, weekly digests, and changelog announcements are managed separately and are not affected by this panel.
