What UserJot is opinionated about

Four things that shape every decision.

Feedback work is craft. The tool should feel like one. These are the four commitments that shape every decision, and together they make UserJot feel unmistakably lighter to run.

Start a free workspace
  • Focused, not bloated

Feedback, roadmap, and changelog. Nothing else. That restraint is what lets every surface feel considered and every flow feel fast.

  • Designed end to end

Portal, widget, dashboard, emails, mobile. Every touchpoint drawn by the same hand, with the same standards. The product looks current for your team and for the people it reaches.

  • AI where it matters

Duplicate detection at submit time. Auto-categorization on triage. The changelog drafted from the feedback that caused it. AI that quietly removes work, not AI that demands a demo.

  • One loop, not three tools

Feedback, roadmap, and changelog share state. Shipping a feature moves the right pieces on its own. Nobody reassembles the story across surfaces.

We set up UserJot and our users actually started leaving feedback. Clean, simple, and we finally know what to build next.

Customer feedback platform

The customer feedback platform where users vote on what ships next.

UserJot brings every customer request into one place, ranks it by the users who want it most, and turns the loop from submission to shipped feature into something your users can watch happen. Feedback, roadmap, and changelog, in one tool.

  • Ranked feedback board

Every request lands in one ranked board instead of getting buried across email, Slack, and support threads.

  • AI duplicate detection

AI surfaces similar requests as users type so votes land on one canonical post instead of splitting across duplicates.

  • In-app widget

Embed feedback collection directly inside your product so users can submit ideas without leaving the page.

  • Status-change emails

When a request moves to Review, Planned, or In Progress, every voter gets the update automatically.

  • Weekly digest

Top new requests worth voting on arrive in a weekly email that pulls users back into the board.

  • Closed-loop updates

The moment a feature ships, voters hear about it through the changelog and the feedback loop closes itself.

Triage

A triage flow built to get you to inbox zero.

Upvoty and most tools in the category give you a status dropdown. UserJot gives you a context-aware action bar that shows only the actions that move each item forward. Triage becomes something you finish, not something you dread.

  • Actions that fit the moment

Every item shows only the moves that apply at its stage. No generic status dropdown to interpret.

  • Guardrails built in

Soft limits nudge you toward a focused roadmap and work-in-progress you can actually finish.

  • Stale and ghost detection

Old items resurface on their own. You keep them, refresh them, or close them.

  • Auto-advance, like an inbox

After any action, the next item loads. Triage takes minutes, not afternoons.

How we think about the loop

Feedback, roadmap, and changelog belong to one system.

Most tools in the category ship three surfaces together. UserJot ships the connections between them, and that is where the day-to-day savings actually come from.

Most feedback tools package three surfaces: a board, a roadmap, and a changelog . From the outside they look like one product. Underneath, they are three views pointed at the same database, each waiting for you to update it by hand.

UserJot treats the state that moves between them as the product . Mark a Post Completed and the changelog announcement drafts itself from the original request. Publish it and every voter hears from you. The widget pulses a new-update indicator. The pieces move together because they were designed to.

That connective tissue is the whole point . It is why a three-person team can close the loop as reliably as an engineering org with a full-time product manager. Without it, every status change leaves a trail of small tasks that nobody really owns.

By the numbers

Three numbers worth knowing.

What UserJot costs to start, how fast you go from signup to a live board, and how long a CSV import from Upvoty usually takes.

  • $0

    Free forever, unlimited users

Two boards, public roadmap, public changelog, every user you want. Upvoty has a 14-day trial and no free tier.

  • 30 sec

    Signup to a live board

Pick a workspace name. Share the link. No configuration sits between you and the first piece of feedback.

  • 2 min

    CSV import from Upvoty

Export from Upvoty, upload to UserJot, confirm the AI mapping. Most teams finish the migration itself in an afternoon.

Side by side

UserJot vs Upvoty, feature by feature.

A feature-by-feature read of where the two products diverge. The pricing stance overlaps (flat, unlimited users, focused scope), but design, AI, and the way the loop closes end up mattering just as much.

Closing the loop

The last mile of feedback, automated.

Shipping is where most feedback tools end. It is where UserJot's work is most useful. The blank page stays closed, and the right people hear first.

AI drafts the changelog from the feedback itself.

Move a Post to Completed and UserJot writes the announcement from the original request and the discussion around it. In your voice, ready to review. No one opens an empty doc on a Friday afternoon.

Voters hear first

Everyone who voted or commented gets an email the moment you publish. The list is built for you.

Scheduled updates

Queue announcements for when your users are awake. A weekly digest gently re-engages the quieter ones.

Product changelog software

Changelog software with AI that writes, schedules, and notifies for you.

AI changelog software that writes updates from your shipped features, schedules posts, and auto-notifies users who requested them. The in-app widget helps users discover every release the moment you publish.

  • AI writes complete changelogs

Tell the AI to write a changelog from closed feedback and it drafts the post, title, and tags in your voice.

  • Automatic user notifications

When you publish, users who voted on those features get an email automatically. No manual list management.

  • In-app widget

Users can read the latest changelog without leaving your product.

  • Update indicator

A small badge appears the moment a new changelog lands, so users never miss what shipped.

  • Link to feedback

Every update links back to the original feature requests and the customers who asked for them.

  • Schedule posts

Ask the AI to schedule for Monday at 2pm, or let it pick the right time for your audience.

“Our strategy is to stay close to our users and obsess over quality. UserJot makes that easy: one place to listen, build what users want, and keep the feedback loop short.”

Filip MinevCofounder, Tally

“UserJot has noticeably improved our product process. Instead of piecing together feedback from support, email, and social, we have one hub to collect feedback, gauge interest, and keep users updated on improvements. It's helped us move faster and focus on things customers actually want.”

Corey RabazinskiVP of Marketing, Scite

“We set up UserJot and our users actually started leaving feedback. Clean, simple, and we finally know what to build next.”

Carl LindesvärdFounder, OpenPanel

“Ever since we added UserJot, the most common thing users mention in reviews is that we actually listen. It's helped us build a loyal community of users who feel like they're shaping the app with us.”

Igor AmidzicFounder, Kualia

“We'd been looking for a feedback board for some time. Every app we found was either bloated or expensive. Userjot hits the sweet spot! The UI is next-level, and the pace of improvement has been amazing!”

Migration

An afternoon to move from Upvoty.

Upvoty does not expose a public import API, so migration runs through CSV. We built the UserJot side to do the heavy lifting once your export is in hand. Posts, statuses, authors, votes, and comments come across intact.

  1. Export your Upvoty data

From Upvoty settings, export your feedback as CSV. Volume-dependent, but most teams have their export ready in a few minutes.

  2. Upload and map in UserJot

Drop the CSV into UserJot and our importer proposes the board, status, and column mapping with AI. You confirm it in a single pass.

  3. Point your links at the new home

Update your feedback link, add redirects if you had a custom domain on Upvoty, and you are live. Most teams switch over an afternoon with no downtime.

If your Upvoty setup has custom integrations, historical data, or anything unusual, reach out. We will run the migration with you and make sure nothing is lost in the move.

Questions

The ones that come up before teams switch.

Pricing math, migration, AI features, and how the two products differ in shape. Answered plainly.

  • Both products take the same pricing stance (flat, with unlimited users) and both focus on feedback, roadmap, and changelog. Two real differences. First, UserJot is built around a single shared state, so moving a Post through its lifecycle updates the roadmap, drafts the changelog, and notifies voters on its own. Second, UserJot is AI-native where it helps: duplicate detection at submit time, auto-categorization on triage, and changelog drafted from the original request. If your team wants a simple voting board at the lowest possible price, Upvoty at $15 per month does that cleanly.

  • Upvoty Power is $15 per month, Super is $25, Hyper is $49. UserJot Starter is $29 and Professional is $59. Both are flat with unlimited users, so pricing at scale is predictable on either side. Upvoty wins on the lowest entry price. UserJot wins on what is included at every tier, including the free one. The AI features and the triage system are available even on the free plan. For a team that wants a basic voting board at the lowest cost, Upvoty is cheaper and honest about that. For a team that wants the full loop with AI, UserJot is built for it.

  • Yes. The free plan includes unlimited users, two boards, a public roadmap, and a public changelog. Upvoty has a 14-day trial but no free tier. This often matters more than the paid tier comparison, because it lets small teams run feedback for nothing until they genuinely need the paid features (custom domain, more boards, integrations, SSO).

  • Yes, via CSV. Upvoty does not expose a public import API, so the move starts with a CSV export from Upvoty, followed by UserJot's AI-assisted column mapping. The importer brings over posts, statuses, authors, votes, and comments. Most migrations finish in an afternoon for teams under a few thousand posts. If your Upvoty setup includes anything unusual, reach out and we will run the migration with you.

  • Yes. AI duplicate detection surfaces similar posts as the user types. Auto-categorization tags submissions on arrival. The changelog composer drafts announcements from the original request and the discussion around it, in your voice, ready to review. We also ship an MCP server so AI agents (Claude, Cursor, or any other) can triage feedback, update the roadmap, and draft changelogs on your behalf. Upvoty does not have AI features.

  • Every feedback detail view has a context-aware action bar at the bottom. It shows only the actions that fit the current phase. New submissions show Close, Merge, Accept, Skip. Items under review show Close and Mark Planned. Completed items show Draft Changelog. After any action, the next item auto-advances, so triage flows like inbox zero. Stale and ghost items surface automatically after sixty days of inactivity. Twenty planned items or five in-progress items trigger gentle guardrails. Upvoty uses a standard status dropdown without the lifecycle mechanics.

  • Unlimited, on top of the built-in lifecycle (Pending, Review, Planned, Progress, Completed, Closed). Upvoty caps custom statuses at three. For a simple workflow that fits in three, the cap is fine. For anything with more distinct states, the limit becomes friction the tool never stops reminding you about.

  • Yes, on Professional ($59 per month) via SAML. Automatic Login, a JWT-based SSO-lite flow, is included on Starter and Professional for in-app identification. Upvoty includes SSO on Hyper at $49 per month, which is cheaper for SSO specifically. If SSO is the only gating feature, Upvoty wins on price.

  • Slack, Linear, Discord, webhooks, a REST API, and an MCP server for AI agents. One integration is included on Starter at $29. Professional includes all of them. Upvoty ships Zapier and Intercom on Super ($25) and Jira, ClickUp, HubSpot, and Slack on Hyper ($49). Both cover the common ground. The MCP server is uncommon in the category and is worth checking out if your team is already working with AI agents.

  • UserJot ships dark mode across the widget, portal, and dashboard, supports markdown throughout (posts, comments, admin notes), and the public board is designed mobile-first. Upvoty does not ship dark mode, does not support markdown in comments, and its public board is desktop-centric. For teams that care about interface polish, these details compound into a bigger day-to-day difference than the feature list alone suggests.

  • Both are supported. Guest posting lets users submit without an account. Anonymous mode strips author names from public submissions entirely. These significantly improve conversion on sensitive feedback. Upvoty requires a signup before users can post.

  • Thirty seconds from signup to a live board. Pick a workspace name, share the link. No configuration sits between you and the first piece of feedback. If you are importing from Upvoty, add an afternoon for the CSV export and AI-assisted import mapping.

  • Email and live chat, responded to personally. UserJot is a small bootstrapped team; the founder and engineering team handle support directly. There is no outsourced tier and no ticket queue to work through before you reach someone who can actually fix the issue.
